This blog is an interactive forum for students enrolled in the Winter Term of PHD 101, Introduction to Photography & Design, at the Art Institute of Portland. Assignments and in-class exercises will be posted on the blog, and students will use it to comment on instructor posts about contemporary photography in order to build visual literacy. The objective is to extend discussion beyond the classroom, enabling students to develop critical thinking skills about photography.

final project proposal
For this project i have decided to explore many fields of photography including painting with light. I intend on shooting a sort of photo essay showing some subcultures in American society. the rave scene is depicted above as an example of more images to come. as well as shooting events in the electronic dance music culture I would like to shoot other "alternative" style cultures such as tattooed America. My goal is to depict what the new generation practices and cultural values are becoming.
